A Time for Growth.

Right now I am at a fun but somewhat frustrating point in blogging. My little blog spot is quickly coming upon it's one year anniversary and I am amazed at what one year has held. I have met so many sweet friends to the point that we are going on a retreat together in October. I have been encouraged yet so challenged with my relationship with Christ. I have gained more marriage advice than anyone has ever told me. Blogging is wonderful. It has opened so many doors and created so many relationships that I would have never had without my little inter web spot.

With that said, I'm starting to ask myself...what is next? Where do I want my blog to go? What do I want my blog to accomplish for this next year?
I feel like it is time to really step up to the plate. I want to grow my blog in ways I would have never imagined it could grow. I'm still a young blogger and every single day I learn new thing but so far, Christ has turned this blog into a journey and I know there is so much more to be done.

When I was thinking about how I wanted to grow my blog, I jotted down little bullet points of the most important things (I believe) that will help grow my blog.

1. Get organized
I recently made a blogging binder and jsut planning my posts for the month makes a world of a difference. I write down ideas that I have and I just run off those ideas. By far, it has been the best choice I could have done for my blog.

2. Blog for five days, everyday for a month.
Yall, I'm not going to lie, this is going to be a big challenge for me. I had planned to post only three days a week, but I thought to myself, why not five? With growing a blog, I think there is a lot of areas where you will have to push yourself and this will be one of them. My biggest worry is that I will have nothing to post about. But I think posting more throughout the week will want readers to come. It will build stronger relationships and readers will look forward to well...reading.

3. Grow more with my photography.
I think photography plays a huge part in a successful blog. The first thing you see when you click on a blog post are the photos, not the words. I'm not saying words are not important because obviously they are MEGA important with a successful blog, but words will not draw your attention like a photo will. I hope that makes sense.

4. Continue to learn Photoshop.
Obviously this goes hand in hand with photography so this is pretty essential. I think its self explanatory ...I highly need Photoshop yall.

5. Plan a new page design
I love the design Sincerely, Lo is currently wearing but I think it is time for something new. I have talked to the lovely Rachel from Oh, Simple Thoughts about planning a new design and now I am ready to start throwing things together and collaborating on a new look. I think a blog design needs to be fresh, easily accessible and a reflection of you.

6. Figure out my domain name
SO confusing to me. Like I said, I am a new blogger. I am literally learning new things all the time and a domain name is one of them. I have a domain, I am just trying to figure out how to connect it to my blog. Help is appreciated because it is beating me up. Goal of the weekend = figure out this domain!

7. Reach out and proclaim Jesus.
My largest goal. I want others to see Christ in me. I want this spot to just scream the love of Christ with the hope that readers will learn about Him. I want it to be a relaxed place. This blog was created with the hope to inspire others as I have been inspired by other bloggers. I want this blog to challenge others in seeing how perfect He is and how incredible it is to live a life full of Christ.

So here it is. Here is to stepping up and taking this spot to a whole new level. I am excited, scared, nervous but ready. I am so thankful for all of you readers and I hope you will follow along with me as I take on this new journey with Sincerely, Lo

xoxo

  4. It took me quite a while to figure out how to link my domain to my blog! Where did you purchase yours? I use GoDaddy and walked through the process again a few days ago. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll see if I can help! I also did a "blog every day in February" challenge earlier this year and it was SO worth it (even though traveling that month made it difficult more than once).

You are such a gem and I'm excited to watch this place explode with Christ's blessings!

  6. Hello! Great post! If you plan on staying on Blogger but using your domain, go into your blog's settings and follow the steps under Publishing.

More than likely, you will have to log into the place where you bought your domain from and edit what is called an "A Record" under your DNS settings. That page on Blogger will tell you what records to plug in to the A record step-by-step. Then wait a few hours and check it. If it doesn't work, make sure the old A records were deleted when you added your new ones. It's actually much simpler than it sounds!

  11. There is this tutorial video I used both times to set up domains (from godaddy to blogger) on YouTube. Just type in, Set up a GoDaddy Domain Name on Blogger. It was super simple! I think it's awesome that you are branding yourself. I am as well. Keep up the great work and may you reach all of your goals! You will!
