Bumps in the road, or air.

Airplanes and heights.
Two of the scariest things in my book. The thought of being thousands of feet in the air and looking out a window to make the world look like an ant.....doesn't sound too appealing to me.
No, I have never flown and at this point, I am not sure if I will ever be brave enough.
Problem is, I want to travel the world. Sean and I both adore traveling and right now, it is pretty easy to do considering we don't have to worry about a baby just yet.

But again....the thought of that plane.

The next problem is, half the places I want to visit require a plane. The others I haven't listed are drive-able....with long hours WOO

The top places to visit on my list are:
Australia
Hawaii
The Holy Lands
Ireland
Sean's place, Italy
 Arizona
...and of course Alaska to visit my dear friend, Amy :)
But again, how in the world can I get there when all I can think of is this??
Makes me nauseous just thinking about it.

Flying tips ladies??

  1. I can't give you any real good advice, because I haven't flown either! I think it's something that you just have to do and get it over with. I think you'll realize that it's not as bad as you think it is, and maybe you'll even think it's fun? I don't think you should let your fear overrule the desire that you have to travel. I think you should just do it and then blog about it, and tell us how not-so-scary it was :)

  2. Oh girl! I love this travel post!
And so glad to see Alaska on the list!

You know....my husband is an airplane mechanic- so you probably just need a pep-talk from him to realize that planes in many ways are safer than cars!
    1. It's WAY harder to get a pilots license than a driver's license.
    2. Planes have inspections done all the time....so maintenance is more preventative (fixing things BEFORE they are ever a problem)
    3. Some things in life....we have to weigh the options- and then just really TRUST the Lord!

I have been on way more planes than I can count....747 huge planes to fly across oceans.....normal planes to fly across states...and small engine aircrafts here in Alaska to fly across the tundra....And you know...I would not trade all those travels!

I hope you can jump on a plane one day trusting God with your adventure!
    Love you girl!

  3. My dad is a pilot… so I just grew up flying! I really actually love it. Maybe start with a short trip and work your way up to the longer trips! :)

  4. Believe it or not, I've never flown either... you're not alone in your fear haha! I would love to visit all of the places you listed and more! Now if only we could deal with our plane phobia!

  5. The flying is worth it, I promise! :) If it's an overnight flight, you can hopefully just sleep...I have to take Tylenol PM to help with that and I hate taking medicine :-p And flights are super safe...safer than driving a car so don't worry about that part. Most of these places are on my list as well!
