The most wonderful time of the year

December 28th....already December 28th. I sit here and reflect this whole week and how much it meant to me. The days leading up to Christmas, Christmas Eve, Christmas day and now after Christmas. It is all so sweet and my heart is full.
I hope you had a VERY blessed and joy filled Christmas!

Celebrating a first Christmas as a wife was definitely a new experience for me. The day before Christmas Eve, Sean came down with a bit of food poisoning {Wendy's chicken nuggets are now a big no no in our home} So he spent the beginning of Christmas in bed while I cleaned the house and took care of him. Luckily on Christmas Eve he was feeling a bit better. We woke up early and started cooking. I made deviled eggs and Sean made this DELICIOUS green bean casserole {I'll tell you, I wish I could cook half as good as that boy} We attended his Christmas Eve party at his parent's home {unfortunately I didn't take my camera :( } After more food we opened our gifts and just enjoyed each other's company. It was bitter sweet.

On Christmas day, Sean and I woke up and opened our gifts to each other. It was so nice to wake up and just run over to the tree and open our presents together. Afterwards, we went to my parent's house to open gifts from Santa with my brother and sister and eat more food.
Everyone remember The Hills? When she opened these my inner teenager came out again
Nobody plan on breaking in to my parent's house anytime soon....
And of course, it was a day of The Christmas Story. Over and over and over again.
Then the food began....
After the pups opened their gifts, it was outside to some football, softball. airplanes and Nerf guns.
It was such a sweet day. Nothing is better than being surrounded by family on holidays...or any days for that matter. Today we have our last Christmas celebration of the year with my side of the family. I'm joyous, ready to eat and anxious to take millions of photos of the memories.

Have a very sweet Saturday lovely :)

Christmas Parades.

This weekend was perfect. I took a vacation day on Friday and finally got my hair done plus I did some Christmas shopping
Saturday, I went with my family to a Christmas parade followed by the Singing Christmas Tree that night.
On Sunday, husband and I did absolutely nothing.
Ahh the feeling to relax.

Anyways, every year my parents, brother, sister and I go to the Germantown Christmas parade. It is something I look forward to SO SO MUCH. Thanks to Sean, I was able to snag some pictures with my camera this year. Check them out!
These moments mean the world to me and I couldn't ask for a better family to share them with. I can't wait until I have babies of my own to show these parades to. One day right?? :)

Oh, and a photo from The Singing Christmas Tree. It was absolutely bea-utiful!

The Flowers Home // Vol 1.

Before we painted, we had these lovely, dark panel walls. My goodness they were something huh? At first, we had to paint all the trim and then we finally moved on to the walls. When I first started to paint I was not thrilled about the color. It was way too light for me and it basically ended up being the same color as the white trim. So we took a fourth trip to Lowes and picked up a darker color. We both fell in love!
Now for the good stuff!

Can we say HALLELUJAH! I love when people tell me the room looks completely different....because that is definitely what we wanted.

Now for some small details!

Oh, and lets not forget the Christmas decorations for our #12daysofblogging

As you know, this is our very first Christmas together as newlyweds. We went with an artificial tree this year but I am SO excited to get a real tree next year. I have never had a real tree before but lately I have grown extremely fond of them {I am thinking I hear a new holiday tradition in the making for next year} This year we stayed pretty simple for Christmas. I picked up most of our decorations from Target, Hobby Lobby and the lovely inter web. We have decorations spread all throughout our home which I think is essential when you have as much Christmas spirit as I do. We also have another tree in our front room plus our little Christmas town {why yes, I will be posting about that}

I am so happy we have this little spot in our home to have family, friends and just enjoy each other's company. There were definitely blood, sweat and tears put into this room. I still have so much more I want to do for this room. New lighting {as you can tell from the photos, this room is hard keeping bright} and NEW FLOORSSS. But until then, I am so thankful we can finally come home and relax in our favorite room with countless laughs, cuddles, food and Storage Wars. Oh and we also have painted our kitchen and front room. I am happy to announce that the front room is 100% finished. Expect photos next post.

Still wondering how I was so lucky to have this man :)

Be sure to follow along with Amber and I as we count down these last few days until Christmas!
